International Lionism
Lions Club International is the largest and the most active service organization in the world. Lions clubs are located in more than 170 countries and geographical locations with a membership over 1,400,000. Lionism is a vital and efficient medium for world, national and local service.
Lions Clubs conduct a variety of humanitarian service projects that benefit the community and the international community as well.
The current major service commitment of Lions Clubs International is the prevention and
reversal of blindness. This program takes the name of SightFirst, and includes the activities
of every club working to control blindness. SightFirst is an international program dedicated
to controlling blindness worldwide. Clubs work individually or through their districts to
prevent and reverse the major causes of blindness in their area.

Membership
Lions are nonpolitical and nonsectarian clubs composed of community leaders. Membership is by invitation only. Each applicant must be:

Sponsored by a Cayucos Lion
Accepted by the Club's Board of Directors
Faithful to meeting attendance
Ready to pay an initiation fee and annual dues

Veteran's Memorial Building
The building is located at the entrance to the pier and plaza, where stands "The Great Communicator" Dolphin Sculpture silhouetted against the scenic skyline of the Pacific.
The Cayucos Lions, by direction from the County of San Luis Obispo, has the responsibility for the management of the facility.
